I recently bought a dozen pairs of shoe clips from eBay. The  bows from last week's shoes are perfect for shoe clips.

First I dyed them black with Indian/Chinese calligraphy/sumi ink. I did it in my steel kitchen sink, you have to be careful to not get any on your clothes or bathroom sink, because they are very difficult to remove (however if you get it on your hand you can rinse it off completely even without soap). After they are completely covered with ink carefully remove them and place them on top of a paper towel with a plastic bag on the bottom. let them dry for 3-4 hours.

These are blank shoe clips. Simply sew or glue anything on them and you can instantly decorate your shoes.
