I have a vintage dress shirt with French cuffs, but the fabric is very flimsy and ordinary cuff links often fall out. I don't like fancy cuff links anyway since they often get damaged from banging on tables or keyboards. I made a pair of cuff links with four plastic buttons. Simply join a pair of buttons with a large jump ring and there you have a cuff link.
